Photographing in Covid-19

Safety and health are first and foremost with any photo production. I'm fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and taking the following precautions:

In studio: Before and after each portrait session, the studio is treated with non-toxic, residue-free disinfectant. The studio air is HEPA- and UV-purified. Alcohol wipes, hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves are provided. My team and I are vaccinated and wear PPE as requested.

On location: I maintain social distancing and wear a mask and gloves at all times as directed. All equipment is disinfected before arrival on site. When and where possible, my air purifier(s) travels with me and is used on site.

Working remotely: Using new technology, art direction, and retouching, I'm photographing remotely. Please click here for more.

Other Projects and Services

Order signed prints from Lush in the Time of Corona, a collection of flower photographs made in studio and at my community garden during Covid-19. Partial proceeds support Henry Street Settlement. The Settlement has worked to feed, house, and meet the physical and mental health needs of those at risk in New York City’s Lower East Side since 1893. The Settlement currently provides 14,000 meals per week while offering its other vital services both on site and online.

Order signed copies of Author: The Portraits of Beowulf Sheehan, my collection of portraits of 200 writers from 35 countries with a foreword by Salman Rushdie. Partial proceeds benefit BookUp, the National Book Foundation's flagship educational program.

Study photography remotely with me. I'm enjoying teaching photography, both in private, one-on-one remote tutoring sessions with students at all levels, and in seminars for beginners. To learn more, click here.

Consult remotely with me. It's been a delight to share my thoughts on imagery, lighting, and presentation with select clients this summer. If you should have similar questions, please contact me

However great our challenges might be, together, supporting one another and our communities, we can overcome them. Thank you for your support.
