Lush in the Time of Corona

Downtown turned to ghost town, seemingly overnight. The soundtrack out my window alternated between birdsong and ambulance siren, week after week. I feared it—New York City, the people, the art, the journey, the joy—was all gone. A bit of it was. But I still wanted to create, to photograph. I was lucky: I had my health, my (remote) community and family, our shared memories. Flowers speak to these things. Fragility and maturity. Wonder. Beauty. All things we will have and share again.

These photographs, made in studio in New York during the pandemic, are available as open-editioned, signed prints. To order, click the link in any image caption or visit the shop. 25% of net proceeds support Henry Street Settlement. Thank you.
