Beowulf Sheehan studied photography at New York University and the International Center of Photography. His childhood love of stories in books and music grew into an adulthood love of storytellers in the arts, entertainment, and humanities. Beowulf makes portraits, communicates ideas, and shares the stories of compelling artists and figures who impact society and culture.

AUTHOR: The Portraits of Beowulf Sheehan, a collection of portraits of 200 writers from 35 countries with a foreword by Salman Rushdie, was published in October 2018. The book was an amazon.com number-one bestseller (in photo essays), supported by editorial, radio, and tv press, exhibitions, and appearances. Partial proceeds from AUTHOR have benefited the American Library in Paris, the Center for Fiction, the National Book Foundation, and the Poetry Society of America.

THE AUTHOR PHOTO: Portrait Photographer Beowulf Sheehan on a Life Capturing Writers, a short film by Claire Ince and Ancil McKain,  was an official selection of the 2020 Venice Institute of Contemporary Art Fine Arts Film Festival and the 2020 On Art Film Festival.
